Who we are

HOOS Construction Ltd. (hereafter referred to as ‘HOOS’, ‘we’ or ‘our’) is a UK registered custom build company, based in Bristol. HOOS is a private company, limited by shares. Our primary business is to design and facilitate the construction of high quality, environmentally conscious custom build houses in and around Bristol and, more generally, to promote community led models of housing delivery.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

This website will not collect any personal data about visitors, except where submitted via the contact or registration forms. When submitting personal data via these forms, you are deemed to consent to the use of that data in accordance with the terms below. Contact forms

Personal data provided by you in contact or registration forms on this website will be used solely in accordance with the company aims stated above.

Personal data may include names, contact information and details of your current housing situation and housing needs, together with an indication of your financial circumstances, only insofar as this is necessary for us to provide accurate advice and services relating to your housing needs. We would not generally request sensitive financial data at any time, and certainly not under any circumstances where you have not entered into a contract with us for provision of design or construction services. Submission of an enquiry or registration of interest via this website does not create a contract for services.

No personal data will be collected or stored without your knowledge and permission. Personal data will never be used for marketing purposes, or be shared with third parties, except as necessary to provide the services you have requested. We will never, under any circumstances, sell your personal data to any third party.

Anonymised, aggregated data may be used and publicly shared in connection with our core business aims. Examples might include data showing the number of people who have registered an interest in community led housing in a given area. Anonymised, aggregated datasets will never include personally identifiable information, or sensitive financial information.

Data submitted via the contact form will be held on our computer system. This data will be password protected, and accessible only to individuals working for HOOS. A backup copy will be held on a secure online server (‘cloud’ storage).

Any paper copies of these records will be held in secure filing cabinets, accessible only to individuals working for HOOS.

Data submitted via the online registration form will be transferred and stored using Mailchimp. Their privacy policy can be found here.

What rights you have over your data

No data will be retained for longer than necessary.

If you have supplied information via contact or registration forms, but not entered into a contract for services with us, this data will be deleted after six years, unless you give your consent for us to retain it. If you have not entered into a contract with us to supply services, you may email us at any time to request that we delete your personal information. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

At any time you can request to receive an electronic copy of the personal data we hold about you. Note that for security reasons, any such request must be made by email, using the email address you have registered with us. A copy of your data will be sent by email to your registered email address. Should this email address no longer be valid, proof of identity will be required before any data files will be released.

You may ask us to make changes to your data where you consider it is not accurate. Where you have supplied personal data via our ‘contact’ or ‘register interest’ forms, please keep us informed of any changes.
